Looking to hire a pet service provider? Below are some common questions and our answers. We saved our most important answer for last! 
 
General Questions
How long have you been in Business?
Strut Your Pup, LLC started in 2010 in dog walking and grew on to incorporate other services. We have become a successful local business thanks to our personalized approach and detailed nature to our pets.

Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, we are insured and bonded through Pet Sitter Associates.


What are your Holidays?
Strut Your Pup has service conditions on the following holidays:
New Year's Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.


If a client requires services on a holiday, please book online or contact us as we will be more than happy to accommodate if we can. An additional fee of $10 will be applied per appointment during holidays. 

What is your key policy?
We require two (2) sets of working keys at initial key pickup in order to avoid a charge for an extra visit.


We can make a copy for an extra $5, if needed. 


Concierge: You can leave one copy of the key with the concierge. 

Lock Box:  Clients have the option to leave 1 set of keys outside their door. 

Key Pickup / Drop off: We are happy to leave your keys on our last visit and pickup during meet and greet.  After one year of inactivity on an account, keys are destroyed.


 
 
Dog Walking Questions
What are your rates for dog walking? What type of services you offer?

What happens if I need an evening or weekend appointment?
No problem! Happy to help.

If you are on one of our memberships, then you can schedule an evening or weekend appointment through our online booking. Use your pet owner dashboard to book your pets, or browse our services.

If you are on no recurring package then you can schedule just the same, and standard rates may apply.


Priority is given to members and we encourage all clients to schedule in advance to secure your slot. You must schedule an evening appointment no later than 8 pm the previous day for the next day. You must schedule a weekend appointment by 8 pm Thursday.

What is the earliest appointment I can schedule? And what is the latest?
For dog walking appointments, 9 AM is the earliest we schedule and 7PM is the latest.

An added $5 charge for any appointment requested after 7:30 pm. Submitting an appointment does not guarantee it has been approved. You will receive a confirmation e-mail if we the availability to full-fill the appointment.
Can I schedule same day appointments?
Yes, but we can not guarantee we are available. Our busiest time is from 10 am - 5 pm and most of our slots are filled everyday. We do our best to accommodate any last-minute requests, but we always recommend to schedule at least a day before to allow us to prepare.
Can I choose a specific time for my dog walking appointment?
We will do our best to accommodate any request for a specific time, especially for puppies on a potty-training schedule. However, during the meet and greet we establish a time range for us to arrive. We always guarantee the schedule appointment during the time-range for arrival. A time range example can be from 12 noon - 3 pm or 4 pm - 6 pm.
Will my dog be walked alone or with a group?
All of our dog-walking appointments are group walks because we believe socialization is key for all pups. We pair pups according to temperament, personalty, size, and if possible age. Our groups are no more than 3 - 4 dogs at a time. We understand some pups are more comfortable alone and we do solo appointments too. See our dog walking rates here.

The above being said, sometimes we do not have a buddy to walk your pup with and they may be walked alone. No worries, you will not be charged a solo appointment.
Can I request a specific person? Will I have the same walker?
We try our best to pair your pup with a primary dog-walker, but sometimes we do have another team member cover an appointment in case someone is sick or on vacation. We are a small business with a small group of dog walkers so we always have you covered and informed through our dog-walking software HappyGoMobile, also providing us with an integrated website to provide you with the best pet owner experience. 
Are there any requirements for my dog to sign up?
Yes. Our sign up process walks you through a form.


Please make sure your pup is:

1. Up to date on Rabies, Bordatella, and DHLPP

2. Has Equipment that fits properly

3. No retractable leash

4, Has a collar with identification tags

5. Weiss leash is recommended.

 
Pet Sitting Questions
Can I have my sitters contact information?
Your appointment has a "share" button, where you can leave a message to the assigned sitter.


Can I meet my petsitter?

Yes, you are able to meet your petsitter or dogwalker during the meet and greet. If you wish to schedule another meet after the meet and greet then we will charge for a visit for the sitters time.

How may I communicate with my pet sitter?
You may communicate with your pet sitter through your HappyGoMobile dashboard. Visit our website or access your web app any time, view an appointment, and click "share" button to send your messages. The pet sitter assigned will receive your messages and will be able to respond using the same channel.


Can I have the same sitter or request a sitter?

We try our best to pair your pet with the same sitter, but sometimes we do have another team member to cover an appointment in case someone is sick or on vacation. We are a small business with a small group of sitters, so we always have you covered and informed through our HappyGoMobile pet care software. 


What type of animals do you service?
We pet sit for cats, small furry animals, birds, reptiles, and aquariums of fish.
 
Boarding Questions
How can I schedule for boarding?
Login to your pet owner dashboard and select a pet to book. If you are a new user, click here to sign up first!

Note: Don't log out, so that on your next visit to our website, the system will guide you straight to your dashboard. 


What will be my dogs arrangements?

Our boarding is private and we only take 3-4 dogs max. The pups will stay with Jorge and we have bowls, bedding, leashes, and filtered water. The most important thing you must bring for your pup is their food. We are happy to take their toys, but we might not let them play with them to avoid any resource guarding.


How many bookings do you take at one time?

We can only accommodate 3-4 pups at a time. Payment must be made on booking to secure your spot. If payment is not made two days before the start of the boarding then we can not guarantee your reservation.


Where will my dog stay?

Your pup will be with Jorge in a cage free home environment. They will get two walks a day and outdoor play at the park or backyard.


How do I receive updates on my pup?
Jorge will be happy to send updates through scheduler at the end of the day. You will receive a report with pictures of us on our walk or park trip. As well a small note on how they are doing with their buddies.
 
Invoicing & Billing Questions
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept and prefer MasterCard, Visa, Discover & American Express. You can also add your bank account to your account for ACH bank transfers. We accept check or cash in individual cases if needed. Login to your pet owner dashboard to setup your payment options.


How does the billing work for a pup on a package?

Packages are pre-paid. We invoice you, or you can add-to-cart and purchase a package here, and purchase memberships here. We continue to invoice you every month for the recurring package or membership right before the pack ends.


I do not have a package, when will I be billed?
You will be invoiced and charged before the appointment to confirm the slot.


Is my information secure?

Yes, all your information is secured within HappyGoMobile scheduling and electronic forms.


How can I inform SYP to change or update my payment method?
Login to your pet owner dashboard and update your payment settings.

Pet-care is not a proprietary business and anyone from your friend, neighbor, or family member can help to take care of your pet. Anyone can start taking care of pets because the industry is not regulated.


I want customers to know that there is a difference in hiring a professional from a friend. I hear stories of pets not being visited or a dog being walked for 5 mins when they hired the person for a half hour.


As a professional company we are insured and invested in technology to not only earn your trust, but keep re-affirming it with every visit.
